Artemis & Apollo

I love to find new uses for old things. So when I decided it was time to get my jewelry collection in order I decided to do to just that.

I started off at HomeSense where I found two lovely wall mounted shelves, both of which are intended as towel holders, but I decided that they would be THE PERFECT pieces to start my jewelry display. Other items I used were a paper towel holder, sugar bowl, tea cup and saucer, candle holders, guest hand towel holder, and kitchen serving pieces.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, I used items from my home, HomeSense and even the 2nd hand store. I shopped in every department other than the storage department to create this unique unconventional jewelry display.Tiered Kitchen Serving Tray as bracelet holder, sugar bowl for watch storage, guest towel holder for bracelet storage, or short necklaces. All these items were from a second hand store.DIY Jewelry Display using candlestick holder with serving tray glued on top for storing smaller earring studs

10 USES FOR WOODEN CRATES

There are so many different uses for wooden crates. They can make a real statement in a room, depending on how you choose to use them. I have gathered for you a collection of new uses for the oh so popular wooden crate.

I’M A BARBIE GIRL

I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie world…As soon as I thought of this blog post that song immediately came to mind…lol

When I was a little girl I could play with Barbie for hours on end! I had so many Barbie’s I couldn’t even count them all, not to mention all the clothes, accessories, houses, motor homes, and cars that you can think of. My parents must have had to take out a 2nd mortgage with all the Barbie’s and Barbie related items I had. Thanks Mom and Dad

Even though I am older now, I still love Barbie. No, I still don’t play with them; however I would if I didn’t think the word would get out 🙂 There is just something about Barbie that I will always love. So for all of you that still have some Barbie love in your heart, this post is for you.

CREATIVE CRAFT ROOMS

Another one of the many items I have on my house to do list….is making over my craft room!

Sometimes there are so many ideas floating through my head that it is difficult to decide on where to start. So when inspiration and clarity is what I crave, one of the things I do is hit the web and look at what others have done, and get ideas that I can somehow incorporate into my own design ideas.

Each of these rooms have some neat ideas that if combined would make for one FABULOUS craft room.

Be sure to check back soon, as I will be posting my craft room makeover progress as it comes along!

Room Inspiration
Every craft room needs a good seat, and I love the pop of colour that this one brings to the room.

The peg board storage system is easy to put together and keeps everything neat in place.

How Joyful
Love the BLUE of this closet office space. I myself have done the same in my craft room with the filing cabinets as the base of the desk. The idea I take from this design are the rollers underneath them, which is a fabulous ideas, as it raises the cabinets to a more appropriate height.

Apartment Therapy
I really like the open shelving system and that all the items are stored in clear containers, so there is no guessing what supplies you have. I also like the ribbon holder and the pencil and pen container that is hanging just above the desk, leaving the desk free of clutter.

Heather Bailey
Love the cabinet in the middle of the room, it is big enough to do any cutting required. Also really like the hutch on the back wall with all the fabrics folded and in view.
