Inspiring Design - Abstract Art

Hi Folks,
Well I am back after a short break...leaving was not of my own accord but to my physiotherapist and a busted shoulder :-( But now things are pretty much back to normal...and I am back with a bang :-) to bring to you even more items of inspiration. Hope everyone was in good health since I've been away and up to fun things :-)

Recently I have been drawn to art pieces that capture my attention right away when I look at interior spaces... it has created a yearning in me to restart painting and sketching....these are just a few beautiful pieces that grabbed my attention....as you will see I am very drawn to abstract pieces....have a look and enjoy!

Dollar Store Treasures - Bringing the Outdoors In

I hope you have been enjoying your week thus far, and have been able to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having!  We are spending more of our time outdoors these days, why not bring some of the outdoors in, with these two ideas.

I have for you some dollar store DIY's.  I came across some neat garden decorations, but wasn't really into them for outdoors...one the colours were not me and I think these are just a little too small for a garden...so I decided to spray paint them a high gloss white and what did I get...some really neat kitchen decoration to flank my sink and bookends for my little man's room (which I will be sharing with you soon in a make-over addition - so stay tuned for that) :).

Enjoy!

Cheap & Easy Ways to Stay Organized

I have been in organization overload for the past week, why?...I think I am just getting sick of constantly "tidying" and I figure if everything has a place it will be that much simpler to keep our home looking good...I would say immaculate...but I have a 3 year old little boy who simply has to have every single toy out when he is playing, so that will never happen, but I do intend to try!

I am always trying to find new uses for old things. So this weekend I hit the thrift stores with my parents and little man to see what we could find.  Boy oh boy was it a worth while trip!  I found so many awesome items, however I will only be sharing you a few with you in this post ;)

My Vanity
My vanity top is always a mess with a package of cotton swabs and Q-tips, make-up and brushes all over the place.  So I needed to find something to put my "stuff" in that actually looked good too.

What did I come up with...Cream pitchers and a butter dish of course.

Cream pitcher were the perfect solution for my makeup brushes and a flower.  I also came across this gorgeous silver butter dish to store my Q-tips and make-up pads in!

In my obsession to get organized I of course decided to hit up Pinterest for some insperation and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite unconvential organization items.  Enjoy!
